By shopping at PlantationDesign.com or with the assistance of an Online Boutique sales representative, you accept all of the Terms & Conditions outlined here. These terms and conditions are subject to change at any time and are applicable only to PlantationDesign.com and the Plantation Design Online Boutique. If you have questions about the terms, conditions and policies of any of our West Coast Showrooms, please contact them directly.
PRODUCT LEAD TIMES:
Estimated shipping times are located on each (non-custom) product page. Please note that these are estimated shipping times and are subject to availability of products and/or factory availability.
If an item you ordered is out of stock or on backorder, we will contact you with an estimated shipping date so that you can decide to continue with the order as is, cancel the particular item or cancel the entire order.
On occasion circumstances, outside of our control, lead to additional production time. In the event that this happens, you will be alerted as soon as we are aware that a problem exists. ORDER PROCESSING & PAYMENTS:
By supplying a credit card payment to a PLANTATION Design representative and/or on PlantationDesign.com, you thereby authorize your credit card to be charged for the total amount(s) calculated in your shopping cart or as detailed in an emailed invoice. As such, you are agreeing to the latest Terms & Conditions, including the Return Policy, listed herein.
You agree that you will not hold PLANTATION Design against any claim, cost or liability pursuant to the use of this order authorization. You agree that no chargeback claim or dispute will be pursued with the credit card company prior to attempting to settle any dispute with PLANTATION and your order(s). Further, you certify that you are the authorized cardholder of the credit card, processed, and are authorized to make the selected purchases.
If you choose to contact your bank or credit card company to dispute, decline, chargeback or otherwise reverse the charge of any payable fees to us (“Chargeback”), we may terminate your account and reserve the right to refuse business in the future. If you have questions about a payment made to us, we encourage you to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org before filing a Chargeback with your bank or creditor.
We reserve the right to dispute any Chargeback.
In the event of a Chargeback, which is ultimately found to have been legitimate or which otherwise finds, in whole or in part, in favor of PLANTATION Design, the customer shall be responsible for all attorneys' fees and costs borne by PLANTATION Design. The terms of any purchase from or dispute with PLANTATION Design shall be governed by California law, and any litigation arising out of such dispute shall be brought in the State of California, County of Los Angeles, in the district governing the City of Los Angeles.
ITEMS INELIGIBLE FOR RETURN:
Sales of all rugs, custom (denoted as “CUSTOM” or described as “made-to-order”) and sale merchandise (always denoted by a product price ending in “.99”) are FINAL SALES. There are no exceptions. For many of our rugs, we have the ability to provide for a sample before purchase. Please ask a sales agent, before ordering, if interested (fees may apply).
Lead times are subject to change as they are stated based on current product availability and other conditions. Lead times can fluctuate due to the timing of many things including, but not limited to: formal receipt of your order, payment/deposit submission, finish selection, fabric selection, hardware selection, approved shop drawings, and response time. We always do our best to adhere to all estimated lead times and proactively communicate any changes should they arise.
Unless otherwise stated, all non-custom items, are as shown and described online. Many items are handcrafted and use natural materials. Variations in color, texture, finish and pattern should be expected.
Please note that wood pieces respond to variations in the humidity levels of your home. The degree of humidity or dryness may cause splitting, which will not affect the structural integrity of the piece and is not to be considered abnormal or flawed.
Custom order items are not returnable or eligible for refunds. You have up 24 hours (from the date the order was placed) to cancel a custom order. After that time or once an order deposit is received, custom orders are non-refundable.
Always inspect your delivery for damage, before signing with the shipping agent. If your order arrives damaged, please follow these important steps:
REPORT ALL DAMAGE(S) visible or concealed, immediately by calling your sales representative at 1-323-731-5400. If a damage claim is not made with the aforementioned documentation, within 24 hours, your claim may be denied.
DOCUMENT all signs of damage on delivery paperwork before signing!
REFUSE THE SHIPMENT if packaging is severely damaged.
SAVE ALL PACKAGING MATERIALS until further notice as the carrier may mandate an inspection.
TAKE PICTURES of all damage(s) and all packaging materials (outer and inner).
SUBMIT YOUR CLAIM, immediately and send photos to: email@example.com!
In the event of either visible or concealed damage, it is crucial to take photographs of ALL merchandise damage AND all packaging (inner and outer). PLANTATION Design cannot process a replacement order without clear photographic documentation. Photographs should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org, immediately.
In all cases of damage, please keep the original packaging and the damaged item(s) as they may be needed to substantiate a claim with the shipper. All items must be kept at the delivery location unless or until otherwise notified.
This information helps us substantiate a damage claim with the shipper and more expeditiously coordinates a replacement shipment to you (if immediately available).
If your order arrives damaged, we reserve the right to have the damaged assessed, repaired and brought back to the manufacturer's standards by a professional furniture medic, either at our expense or at the expense of the shipper. If we determine that the item(s) cannot be repaired or replaced, you have the right to be reimbursed for your purchase or have another piece rushed at no additional charge and shipped out to you as soon as possible.
PLANTATION Design will be unable to assist you in the repair or replacement of damaged goods if all the above procedures are not followed. Please remember that custom furniture items are not eligible for return.
RETURN POLICY & RETURN INSTRUCTIONS:
The PLANTATION Design online store features products individually selected by our design team based on style, uniqueness, and exceptional quality. We proudly stand behind the items offered on our site and your satisfaction is our goal. In the unlikely event you are dissatisfied with one of your selections, we will gladly refund your purchase in accordance with the following conditions:
Returned goods are in unused condition and returned in their original packaging.
Unwanted items are in return transit within 5 business days of the initial delivery confirmation. Please reference “How to Make a Return” (below) for specific instructions.
All returns are subject to the following restocking fees:
Lighting, Mirror, and Accent Furniture products are subject to a 15% restocking fee for the first item returned from each category. Each additional item returned from any of these three product categories, is subject to a 20% restocking fee.
All other eligible items $250 or less are subject to a $25 restocking fee.
All other eligible items over $250 are subject to a 10% restocking fee.
When possible, an item may be exchanged for a different color or size without the above-mentioned restocking fee(s). This will be considered on a case-by-case basis and is not a general rule.
Customers are responsible for all return packaging and shipping fees.
The return policies and procedures (described above) do not apply to the receipt of damaged merchandise. Damaged merchandise is subject to repair or replacement only. Exceptions are made on a case-by-case basis as described in the “Damaged Merchandise” section, above.
If approved, credit(s) are issued no later than 72 hours after the return delivery confirmation and satisfactory inspection of the returned merchandise. This credit will be made in the original payment form and price, not including shipping and handling, re-stocking fees, gift-wrap and return shipping charges. Standard shipping charges will be applied for all "free shipped," non-defective items.
How to Make a Return:
Returns will be accepted with prior authorization only.
Email email@example.com or call 1-323-731-5400 to acquire approval for your return and to obtain your return authorization number. Any returns received without an issued return authorization number will be ineligible for a refund or exchange.
Denote your return authorization number on a copy of your original order invoice (emailed to you) and enclose it with your return. If you do not have a copy of your original invoice, please include a piece of paper with your full name and address, phone number, the last four digits of your order number and your return authorization number.
Pack and seal your return securely in its original packaging.

We highly recommend insuring all package(s), as any damage resulting from return transit are the customer’s sole responsibility.
All non-custom orders are subject to a 24-hour cancellation window.
This must be enforced as we immediately secure and allocate merchandise to a given order on a first come, first serve basis. This helps minimize lead times, adhere to displayed product availability windows, and avoid backorders. Cancellations that occur 24 hours after an initial order is placed are subject to the restocking fees detailed in the “Return Policy & Return Instructions” section, above. All special orders are final sales, without exception. Changes or cancellations to special orders may not be made after 24 hours.
Customer service is the cornerstone of our boutique business. Please know that we always alert our customers if an expected shipping time frame changes from a previously confirmed or listed availability. Once provided with any revised information, customers are entitled to cancel an order, without penalty, outside of our normal cancellation window.
On occasion, we may need to cancel an order for (any of) the following reasons:
An item will not ship within the original or reconfirmed availability window.
An item becomes indefinitely backordered.
There was a pricing or product information error with an item in your order.
An item gets discontinued by one of our suppliers.
We will call and/or email you if we are forced to cancel an order. In that event, no charges will be applied to your credit card.
SHIPPING: INFORMATION & PROCEDURES
Shipping costs are calculated as a percentage of the order total. If an item requires truck delivery and/or special handling, additional shipping charges may be applied. We will contact you with a final shipping cost if this should occur with an item in your order. No additional shipping charges will be applied to your credit card without your approval.
Shipping charges cover the packing, transit, and safe delivery of your purchase. Most items are shipped via FedEx Ground/Home Delivery service and typically take three to five business days to reach a destination after safely leaving our warehouse. We are unable to ship to post office boxes or APO/FPO addresses. To protect your purchase, all items are shipped with insurance and require a signature for delivery.
Select items from our website may feature an expedited shipping option. If available for a particular item, an expedited shipping timeframe will be displayed in addition to the standard shipping window (under “Availability”). Please note that “Availability” only indicates when an individual item is estimated to begin its transit (leaves the warehouse to our shipping carrier). Availability timeframes do not indicate the exact delivery of an item to your destination address.
All delivery dates are estimated; we are not liable for delayed shipping by any manufacturer or shipping agent.
Any costs resulting from changes to a shipping address, once an item leaves our warehouse, are the customer’s responsibility.
If the delivery location is not your own or your order delivery(s) are being made to a third party entity, you are not exempt from the inspection and damage responsibilities listed in “Damaged Merchandise.” We encourage you to alert whomever is receiving the order, prior to delivery, so that they know to inspect it thoroughly and to follow the aforesaid instructions in the unfortunate event that damage occurred during transit.
As a retailer of products from all over the world, the availability of the products we feature can vary significantly. Therefore, we typically ship items as they become available versus waiting to ship a multiple item order in its entirety.

While we make every effort to ensure the accuracy of the information presented online, PLANTATION Design is not responsible for any errors or omissions. Such errors may include, but are not limited to product dimensions, material, current availability and price. The majority of these errors are caught prior to order processing and shipment. In these cases, we will contact you to discuss any updated, changed or previously omitted information. We strive for excellence in customer service and will work with you in the event we feel a product was misrepresented online.
PLANTATION Design reserves the right to revise any pricing error(s). In the event of a price increase, no additional charges will be charged to your card without your approval.
